Mission Legacy

Legacy Mission is not just about launching a rocket; it's about continuing the launch of a dream. It's about igniting a passion for aerospace throughout Colombia, inspiring a new generation of scientists, engineers and explorers.  We are creating a future in which Colombia will be a key player in the global aerospace arena, and Legacy is a crucial step in bringing this vision to life.  Legacy is a joint project between ConeXalab and the aerospace seedbed Volta of UDEA, where collaborative work invites us to infinity and beyond.

Building a Legacy, Piece by Piece.

We're designing and building a high-powered rocket that will not only reach new heights but also serve as a symbol of innovation and working team. This multi-vehicle mission will launch a rocket to an apogee of over 3600 meters, carrying three mini-satellites designed to gather critical data during the flight.

Key Legacy Mission Objectives:

  • Inspire: Our goal is to awaken a passion for science and technology in young people around the world. Legacy is a testament to what is possible when passion and dedication create opportunity.

  • Showcase the talent of young people: We are demonstrating the incredible potential of Colombian engineers and scientists on a global stage. Legacy is a powerful symbol of Colombia's growing capabilities in the aerospace field.

  • Sharing knowledge and resources: We are committed to making this journey accessible to all. The knowledge and materials developed during the Legacy Mission will be shared with schools, universities and individuals passionate about rocketry, fostering a collaborative environment for aerospace development in Latin America.

  • Create educational opportunities: We are developing educational materials and programs focused on rocketry and space exploration, empowering teachers and students to engage with these exciting fields. We believe that by educating young minds, we can create a lasting legacy for aerospace.

  • Building a sustainable future: The developments are framed in the MaMus Marns Mission where we promote sustainable practices in rocketry, motivating the development of solutions that encourage the protection of biodiversity, the environment and raise the quality of life for the future of sustainable space exploration.

Launching a Dream in 2025

Our liftoff window is January 4-25, 2025, for our first Legacy launch in Colombia. This will be a historic moment for all of us, marking an important milestone on our path to aerospace excellence. After the launch in Colombia, we will compete in the 6th edition of the Latin American Space Challenge (LASC) in Tatuí, Brazil, showcasing our rocket and our passion on an international stage.
